Mesenteric Ischemia: Treatment for Chronic Abdominal Pain
Mesenteric ischemia occurs when there is not enough blood flow to the bowel. Possible symptoms include diarrhea, unintentional weight loss, and abdominal pain which typically gets worse after eating. Many people get a food aversion because of the pain they experience after meals.
Mesenteric ishcemia can typically be easily treated with non-surgical techniques including angioplasty or stent placement.
