Treatment for Sacral Fractures
Sacral insufficiency fractures are usually hairline fractures of one or both sides of the sacrum, typically seen in older patients with weakened bones or osteoporosis. Often, these can be treated by non-surgically by our IR doctors by placing bone cement along the fracture, by using CT guidance and one or two needles. This treatment can be very effective at relieving pain and improving both mobility and recovery. |
