SDI Diagnostic Imaging

SDI Diagnostic Imaging is a radiology practice dedicated to providing quality healthcare imaging services in the Tampa Bay area for over 40 years. In the autumn of 1967 three local Radiologists working out of St Joseph’s Hospital, in Tampa, Florida, saw a growing need for high-quality diagnostic imaging and reading services.  Together those three Radiologists created SDI Radiology. As of today it has grown over the years to have over 25 radiologists and three physician assistants and a full complement of support staff. In 2003 SDI Radiology changed its name to what is today known as SDI Diagnostic Imaging. It is still giving the same high-quality diagnostic imaging and reading services that it was founded on.

All of SDI’s Radiologists are Board-Certified and Fellowship-Trained. Our Radiologists have a wide variety of specialties to meet all the needs of our patients. Along with diagnostic imaging, our Radiologists also perform Interventional procedures. These procedures are advanced, invasive procedures that are done out of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. With subspecialty expertise in Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Pediatric Radiology, Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Neurointerventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Women's Imaging, SDI provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional services.

SDI supports the imaging needs of St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, St. Josephs’ Children Hospital in addition to St. Joseph’s four Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Centers, the Bayflight airborne ambulance service and three freestanding imaging centers owned by SDI Diagnostic Imaging.

SDI Diagnostic Imaging in Oldsmar was opened in 2000. Followed by SDI Diagnostic Imaging in South Tampa opened 2003. Then in 2007 we opened our newest SDI Diagnostic Imaging in Central Tampa. These centers provide high quality Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Helical Computerized Tomography (CT), Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, and general X-rays.

Our professional interpretation services have also expanded through the development of teleradiology, which allows us to receive full-quality digital images from remote locations at high speeds. In addition to providing 24hr in-house coverage at St. Joseph's Hospital, we now provide overnight emergency radiology services to over 20 other hospitals in the Southeast and provide daytime coverage of MRI and other imaging services to remote sites. Teleradiology also allows us to consult with our subspecialist experts from any of our several locations.
