Uses for Doppler Ultrasound

Doppler Ultrasonography is primarily used for assessments of carotid artery stenosis and for evaluation of suspected deep venous thrombosis.  Color duplex Doppler is also utilized for assessment for testicular blood flow in cases of suspected torsion, additional characterization of ovarian masses, detection of cardiac activity in early pregnancy, and other applications.
