Multidetector Helical 3D CT Technology

3D CT Reconstruction has been available on standard CT scanners equipped with appropriate software for several years, but new Helical Multidetector CT (MDCT) now allows unprecedented image quality, not just of bone, but also of soft tissues. Slice thicknesses of 0.6 mm can now be achieved, artifacts are substantially reduced, and the resulting images are phenomenal.

Indications:
foot deformities
Soft tissue tumors with complex anatomy
Complex fractures

Limitations:
Small ligamentous and tendinous structures remain best assessed by MRI.

3D CT Reconstruction is performed on our Helical Multidetector CT scanners at SDI Diagnostic Imaging in South Tampa and SDI Diagnostic Imaging in Oldsmar.  Images can be saved on CD-ROM disk by request for viewing on any PC running Microsoft Windows
